The Smartie Story

Behind our adventure to become Toronto's most beloved childhood destination!

The Beginning

Mother-daughter team Reesa & Jenna, inspired by their trailblazing grandmother Caryl Baker, left teaching to create something extraordinary. In 2016, they launched the first Smartiepants studio at Eglinton & Allen Road, a vibrant space where little minds discover their potential.

Instant Success

Within a year, Smartiepants programs became Toronto’s hottest ticket, selling out faster than a T. Swift concert! Parents weren’t just booking classes, they were joining a community where children develop essential skills through play, creativity, and exploration.

Welcome to SmartieGym

In 2019, Smartiepants evolved with SmartieGym Forest Hill, a toddler’s paradise featuring jungle gyms, roller coasters, and treehouses. From drop-in play to structured movement programs, children develop balance, coordination, and confidence in a space designed for their growing abilities.

Adapting and Innovating

When COVID-19 closed our physical doors in 2020, we created new opportunities. SmartiepantsLIVE launched just four days after lockdown, connecting families worldwide through virtual classes & Super Smartie Activity Boxes that brought our signature energy right into homes across the globe.

The Next Chapter

Fall 2024 welcomed SmartieGym St. Clair, our innovative 2,100 sq ft space blending both play and studio experiences under one roof. Join Smartie, Pants & Gym (our beloved mascots) as we continue creating environments where children thrive. The Smartiepants story is just beginning.
